ORTHODONTICS

ORTHODONTICS

At our practice we offer the following orthodontic treatments;

Early Interceptive Orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment in young children is known as interceptive orthodontics, and it can begin as early as age 6 or 7. At this age, teeth are still developing and the child’s jaw is still growing. That means certain conditions, such as tooth crowding, may actually be easier to address. Early treatment does not apply to all orthodontic problems but it can help in certain cases. Early intervention takes advantage of the fact that a child's jaw is still growing. Functional appliances can fix or improve these problems. More treatment is usually needed later on, but it may be shorter and less involved.

For these patients we offer both removable appliances or fixed appliances.

Class 1 Malocclusion

This is where the alignment of the upper jaw teeth biting into the lower teeth is normal but the teeth might show some irregularities, such as crowding, gaps, rotation, etc.

For these patients we offer fixed braces.

Kids braces have improved a lot in recent years. Technology has made them more comfortable and more attractive than those of previous generations!

In the more complex cases, we refer to specialist orthodontic practitioners.
